HCC Prepares to Host Solar Eclipse Visitors
Kentucky Ag Connection - 06/15/2017

View the 2017 Solar Eclipse at the point of greatest eclipse in Hopkinsville, Ky., on Aug. 21 at Hopkinsville Community College!

When you choose to view the solar eclipse at HCC, you'll have access to concessions, eclipse merchandise, indoor restrooms, air conditioned facilities, a variety of educational opportunities and an HCC Student Research Team satellite balloon launch into near space.

HCC will have daytime viewing spots for $50/per vehicle-load of people. Spaces are sold by the vehicle-load so the number of visitors per vehicle does not impact price. HCC will be open on eclipse day from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. HCC will offer the ticket holding group an assigned campus lawn viewing area along with a paved parking lot space for vehicles having up to 4 wheels.

Large groups from educational organizations who will be attending in large buses can reserve space for $150. Passanger vans holding 12-15 passangers can reserve space for $80. These reservations must be made with Jeff Horton by email or by calling (270) 707-3721. Reservations are required since special parking, drop-off and pick-up procedures are necessary.

HCC will have some fun and educational activities the morning of the eclipse. Also, HCC will be offering a commemorative T-shirt that will be availble to purchase online in the coming weeks.
