Bevin Makes Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Larry Prentice Clark and Carl Wayne Breeding have been appointed to the Kentucky Nature Preserves Commission. Prentice Clark, of Greensburg, is a farmer. He shall represent the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2020. Breeding, of Lexington, is an attorney. He shall represent members at-large and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2020.

The Kentucky Nature Preserves Commission has five members all of which are appointed by the Governor. The Commission helps conserve Kentucky nature preservations for future generations for the purpose of scientific research and education. The Commission also promotes understanding and appreciation of an unspoiled and unsoiled environment.

Harry Pelle has been appointed to the Forestry Best Management Practices Board. Pelle, of Bradfordsville, is retired and will represent the Kentucky Woodland Owners Association and serve for a term expiring April 22, 2020.

The Forestry Best Management Practices Board was established in 1998 for the purpose of updating Kentucky's forest practice guidelines for water quality management and the Division of Forestry's administrative regulations regarding timber harvesting operations.

Brian O'Rear and H.E. "Beaver" Corder have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors. O'Rear, of Fisherville, is the owner of HomeTeam Inspection Service. He shall represent home inspectors and serve for a term expiring June 21, 2020. Corder, of Science Hill, is a contract auctioneer for Ford Brothers Auctioneers and Realtors. He shall represent the public and serve for a term expiring June 21, 2020.

The Kentucky Board of Home Inspectors is composed of five gubernatorial appointees. The Board was established to administer and regulate the licensing and conduct of home inspectors within the Commonwealth.

Edward Cornelius Tong has been appointed to the Real Estate Appraisers Board. Cornelius Tong, of Owensboro, is self-employed. He shall represent the public and serve for a term expiring May 9, 2020.

The Real Estate Appraisers Board is composed of five gubernatorial appointees. The Board is charged with regulating and controlling the licensing and conduct of real estate appraisers within the Commonwealth.

Carrie Blackham, Sharon Kay Fields, Deanna Sokacz, Zella Faye Wells, Michelle Bazeley, and Dorothy James Jenkins have been appointed to the Statewide Advisory Council for Vocational Rehabilitation. Blackham, of Whitesville, is the chief executive officer for Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities. She will represent community rehab providers and serve for a term expiring May 20, 2020. Fields, of Salyersville, is a retired nurse. She will represent individuals with disabilities and serve for a term expiring May 20, 2020. Sokacz, of Louisville, is a fiscal assistant for the Center for Accessible Living. She will represent disability advocacy groups and serve for a term expiring May 20, 2020. Wells, of Paintsville, is retired from her position as assistant superintendent for Johnson County Schools. She will represent individuals with severe disabilities and serve for a term expiring May 20, 2020. Bazeley, of Louisville, is an independent contractor for DDS University Corridor. She will represent community rehab programs and serve for a term expiring May 20, 2020. Jenkins, of Shelbyville, is a vocational rehabilitation counselor. She will represent vocational rehabilitation and serve for a term expiring May 20, 2020.

The Statewide Advisory Council of Vocational Rehabilitation reviews, analyzes, and advises the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation on setting standards and the ability to assist Kentuckians with disabilities to achieve suitable employment and independence.

Chester Hicks, Kem Delaney-Ellis, Olivia Davis, and Deandra Hart have been appointed to the Governor's Minority Employment, Business Affairs and Economic Development Council. Hicks, of Louisville, is an administrative officer for Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government. He will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2021. Delaney-Ellis, of Shelbyville, is director of health policy for Norton Healthcare. She will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2021. Davis, of Lexington, is an assurance manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. She will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2021. Hart, of Louisville, is office manager for Results Physiotherapy. She will serve for the remainder of an unexpired term ending April 1, 2018.

The Governor's Minority Employment, Business Affairs and Economic Council--in collaboration with major corporations, business owners, government entities, community and higher education institutions--seeks to develop outcome-driven initiatives that can measurably grow minority business enterprises and minority employment opportunities within the Commonwealth. The Council is composed of the Governor (or designee), the Lt. Governor (or designee), and 15 gubernatorial appointees.

William Brab has been appointed to the Board of Registration for Professional Geologists. Brab, of Richmond, is a project geologist for AST Environmental. He will represent geologists and serve for a term expiring July 14, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Registration for Professional Geologists regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of professional geologists within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Claude Jay Christensen has been appointed to the Center for Pollution Prevention Board of Directors. Christensen, of Sadieville, is the mayor of Sadieville. He will represent local government and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.

The Center for Pollution Prevention Board of Directors facilitates and promotes the commercial implementation of pollution prevention technologies and procedures by providing technical and financial assistance, as available, to business and industry.
