Toyota Donates Vehicles to ECTC Auto Tech Programs
Kentucky Ag Connection - 07/20/2021

Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Kentucky donated two cars to automotive technology programs at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

The vehicles are a 2020 Avalon and a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid and will provide ECTC students the opportunity to learn the latest technology in the automotive world. ECTC would not have been able to purchase vehicles as frequently as needed to keep up with technology, so Toyota's donations ensure students are at the forefront in the automotive field.

"Toyota's partnership and donation helps ECTC ensure students are prepared to meet the demands of today's automotive workforce and keep our region moving," said ECTC Dean of Workforce Solutions and Technical Programs Mike Hazzard. "We're thankful to add these late-model vehicles to the fleet, making our automotive program even stronger."

The automotive technology program provides students with knowledge in troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, servicing and repairing high-tech automotive systems. Graduates are prepared for a variety of employment opportunities across the region in this high-demand career field.

"We believe it's our responsibility to partner with educators to support career readiness programs that help develop our future workforce," said Kim Ogle, Toyota Kentucky corporate communications manager. "Our goal is help prepare students for future workforce success and expose them to an industry that is a vital component of Kentucky's economy."
