Kentucky Ag Connection - 01/09/2018

Beginning this month, visitors to the Kentucky State Capitol will have the opportunity to see historic documents, photographs, maps and other materials from the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives' (KDLA) archival collection.

Outside the Capitol Rotunda, two permanent display cases, donated by the Friends of Kentucky Public Archives, Inc., will feature rotating historic items from KDLA's State Archives. The items are from more than 125,000 cubic feet of original records maintained in the Kentucky State Archives, including information from court cases, state legislatures, county courts, vital statistics and state agencies.

"We're incredibly excited about this opportunity to display Kentucky's historic records," said Beth Shields, Kentucky state archivist and records administrator. "It's a wonderful way to exhibit significant pieces from our collection to the public."
