Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) has selected three finalists for its 2026 Kentucky Farmer of the Year award, honoring agricultural producers who demonstrate excellence in farming along with strong leadership and community involvement. This year’s finalists are Terry Brown of Hopkins County, Mike Jones of Mercer County and Steve Rogers of Hardin County.
The candidates advanced through a detailed selection process that required Farm Bureau membership, a letter of recommendation from their county Farm Bureau and an on-farm evaluation conducted by state judges.
The finalists were recognized during KFB’s Country Ham Breakfast at the Kentucky State Fair on August 27, 2026.
“Kentucky Farm Bureau is proud to recognize Terry, Mike and Steve,” said KFB President Eddie Melton. “Each has built a successful farming operation while giving generously of his time to his county Farm Bureau and community. They share a deep commitment to agriculture and a desire to leave the land better for the next generation of farmers.”
The 2026 winner will be announced October 12, 2026, and honored again during KFB’s annual meeting in Louisville in December. The award highlights farmers whose accomplishments and service strengthen Kentucky’s agricultural communities and help shape the future of farming.
