Josh Lancaster Earns NCGA Advocate of the Year Honor

By Blake Jackson

Kentucky corn producer and Kentucky Corn board member Josh Lancaster has been recognized as the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Advocate of the Year during the organization’s Corn Congress in Washington, D.C.

Lancaster, who is based in Slaughters, Kentucky, farms corn and soybeans alongside his brother, Kyle. Their family operation spans Webster, Hopkins, Henderson, McLean, and Daviess counties.

The prestigious award honors farmers who demonstrate exceptional commitment to agricultural advocacy through active participation in NCGA initiatives and leadership efforts.

Recipients are selected based on their involvement in advocacy campaigns, leadership development programs, PAC membership, and engagement with lawmakers on issues affecting the corn industry.

Lancaster serves on the NCGA CornPAC Committee and has completed both the NCGA Leadership Academy and the ACE Series leadership programs.

Over the past year, he actively supported advocacy efforts related to the farm bill, year-round E15, and other key policy priorities. In May, he traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate for year-round E15 ahead of the House of Representatives' vote.

Lancaster also previously served as president of the Kentucky Corn Growers Association, further demonstrating his dedication to representing corn producers.

“We are excited to see him receive this recognition for his hard work and passion for advocating for America’s corn growers,” Jed Bower, Ohio farmer and president of the National Corn Growers Association, said.

“Josh is so deserving of this award. He goes above and beyond to advocate for corn farmers, and serves as an excellent example of what an agriculture advocate and leader can be,” Laura Knoth, KY Corn Executive Director, said.
