Midwest Pork Conference Dec. 7 in New Location

Indiana Pork will host the Midwest Pork Conference on Dec. 7 at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Ind. Midwest Pork Conference brings together more than 300 independent pork producers, farm managers, contract growers and allied industry leaders to this one-day educational and networking event.

Midwest Pork Conference, held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern, includes educational sessions discussing topics such as improving piglet survivability, tax law changes and what it means for estate planning, managing disease on the farm, employee retention and an economic update. This year, the keynote session, sponsored by Farm Credit Mid-America, will feature a presentation by Army veteran and Purdue graduate, Josh Bleill. Bleill will motivate everyone with his story of overcoming tragedy and taking one step at a time.

"The committee has put together a fantastic lineup of speakers this year for Midwest Pork Conference," said Stacy Herr, director of Producer Education for Indiana Pork. "There really is something for everyone whether you are an owner, manager or employee."

The event also includes a tradeshow and multiple opportunities to network throughout the day. The cost to attend is $80 for the first registrant from a farm or company and $60 for each registrant thereafter from the same farm or company. Various sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are also available.
