The Lake Barkley Beekeepers Association is hosting the 2024 Kent Williams Bee School from April 24th to 26th, 2025, at The Williams farm, located at 580 State Route 385 North, Wingo, KY.
The event will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day, offering attendees an excellent opportunity to learn from experts in the field of beekeeping.
There is no cost to attend the Bee School, and no sign-up is required-just show up and join in! The Lake Barkley Beekeepers Association will provide lunch for attendees, with donations welcome to support the event.
Kent Williams, an EAS Certified Master Beekeeper, along with fellow members of the Association, will lead a series of informative classes each day.
Topics covered will include basic hive inspection, beekeeping equipment, making splits, varroa management, and both basic and advanced queen rearing. Additional topics may be introduced, depending on the availability of presenters.
The event will be held outdoors, rain or shine, so participants should plan accordingly. If the weather requires, classes will be moved inside.
It’s also recommended that attendees bring a folding chair and their own protective gear, as several classes will take place in the bee yard. Veils are mandatory for those attending bee yard classes.
