The Kentuckiana Beekeepers Association (KBA) will host a Beekeeping 101 class on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, offering an introductory learning opportunity for anyone interested in starting beekeeping. The class will run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (EST) at the Texas Roadhouse Support Center, located at 6060 Dutchmans Lane in Louisville, Kentucky.
This session is the first of a two-part beginner series designed to guide new and aspiring beekeepers through the fundamentals of getting started.
Topics will include an overview of beekeeping basics, how to choose the right equipment, and what to consider when ordering bees. Participants will gain practical knowledge to help them prepare for their first hive and build confidence before the beekeeping season begins.
The class is open to the public and is free for households with a $15 annual KBA membership. Those interested can join the association online or learn more by contacting KBA directly at KBA@kyanabees.com. The event provides a welcoming environment to learn, ask questions, and connect with the local beekeeping community.
