Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) has selected Laura Rogers, a public affairs producer at Kentucky Educational Television (KET), as the recipient of its 2026 Communications Award.
The annual recognition honors journalists whose reporting helps audiences better understand Kentucky agriculture, its communities, and the people working in the industry.
Since joining KET in April 2022, Rogers has managed all aspects of video production, including filming, scriptwriting, and editing. Her work primarily appears on Kentucky Edition, a weeknight public affairs program covering important issues affecting communities throughout the state.
Rogers reporting frequently explores agricultural subjects, including climate conditions, commodity prices, locally produced food, modern farming techniques, and agricultural education.
Rogers has also contributed stories to KET's farm-focused segment, Rooted, covering topics such as rural meat processing and soybean exports. Working from Bowling Green, Rogers has reported from nearly 50 Kentucky counties.
Agriculture is also part of Rogers' personal background. She grew up on a 250-acre farm in Hart County, where her family raised hay and beef cattle. Beyond journalism, she actively supports farm family health and safety initiatives.
Rogers is serving her first year as vice president of the Kentucky Partnership for Farm Family Health and Safety and her fourth year as a board member. She also leads the organization's annual meeting committee, which organizes a yearly event featuring a meal, program, and auction.
Funds raised help provide free health screenings for farmers through the Area Health Education Center (AHEC). Additionally, she chairs the organization's public relations committee.
Rogers will receive the award during the Kentucky Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in December at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.
