BASF is expanding its digital farming offerings with the launch of xarvio CONNECT 2.0, a portable device designed to simplify communication between farm machinery and digital crop management tools.
The new technology enables secure data exchange between xarvio FIELD MANAGER and compatible machinery terminals. By creating a direct connection, farmers can quickly transfer application maps and access important operational information without additional devices.
Using a built-in SIM card and USB connection, xarvio CONNECT 2.0 creates a secure communication pathway between field software and machinery. The solution continues collecting and transferring information even when mobile network coverage is limited, ensuring important data is not lost.
The device supports widely used agricultural file formats and works with equipment capable of using variable-rate and flat-rate application maps. This flexibility helps farmers integrate digital tools into existing operations without extensive modifications.
Installation is simple. Farmers connect the device through a USB port in the machine cab, and application maps are automatically transferred within minutes. Compatibility with ISOBUS and CAN-bus systems allows the device to work across many equipment brands and models.

Beyond map transfers, xarvio CONNECT 2.0 gathers valuable field information, including harvest data, moisture readings and application rates. Farmers can review this information through xarvio FIELD MANAGER to better understand field performance and make informed management decisions.
Integrated GPS capabilities further enhance operational efficiency by helping monitor machine locations and streamline logistics. Improved tracking can contribute to better fuel use, reduced input costs, and more effective field operations.
The product was developed with farmer feedback and tested extensively across North America during the 2024 and 2025 growing seasons. Trials included planters, sprayers, and fertilizer spreaders from multiple manufacturers, demonstrating broad compatibility.
