The Northern Kentucky Beekeepers Association will host its annual Beekeeping 101 School on Saturday, February 21, 2026, offering a hands-on introduction for anyone interested in starting their beekeeping journey. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boone County Extension Enrichment Center in Burlington, Kentucky.
Instruction will be led by Jim Coss of The Honey and Bee Connection in Morehead, a well-known and highly respected Kentucky beekeeper with years of practical experience.
Designed specifically for beginners, the program will cover essential topics such as hive setup, bee biology, seasonal management, equipment needs, and basic hive care. Attendees will gain practical knowledge to help them confidently get started with their own colonies.
All necessary beekeeping equipment and supplies will be available for purchase on site, making it easy for participants to leave prepared to begin. There is no cost to attend, and the event is open to the public.
