Statewide Webinar Shares Tips to Manage Alpha Gal Syndrome

By Blake Jackson

Living with Alpha-Gal Syndrome can be challenging, but support and information are available. A special statewide webinar and watch party will be held to help people understand and manage this tick-borne condition.

The event, hosted by UK Extension, will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, both in-person and online. The in-person session will be held at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville, 200 Clinic Drive, 8th Floor Conference Room, Madisonville, KY 42431.

Alpha-Gal Syndrome is a delayed allergic reaction to red meat and other mammalian products, caused by a bite from the Lone Star tick. The event will focus on tick bite prevention, recognizing symptoms, and how to make dietary and lifestyle changes.

Healthcare experts will provide guidance on managing the condition and answer questions during a live Q&A session. This is a great opportunity for individuals, caregivers, or anyone interested in learning more about Alpha-Gal Syndrome.

The event is designed to be easy to understand and helpful for people of all ages. Whether attending in person or from the comfort of home, participants will gain practical advice on living a healthier life despite the challenges of this condition.

To secure your spot, make sure to RSVP by April 22. This watch party is a step toward better awareness and control over an often-misunderstood health issue.

For those interested in tick identification and testing, more details are also available. Don’t miss this chance to get informed and supported in your journey with Alpha-Gal Syndrome.

Stay safe, stay informed, and take charge of your health.
