The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) is providing emergency loans to farmers and ranchers impacted by natural disasters under a Presidential disaster declaration.
These loans aim to support producers recovering from severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides, classified under Disaster M4861.
Emergency loans offer financial assistance to cover critical recovery needs, including replacing essential equipment or livestock, restructuring farm operations, or refinancing certain debts.
The FSA evaluates loan applications based on the severity of losses, available security, and an applicant’s repayment ability.
Producers in primary disaster areas, as well as those in contiguous counties, are eligible for assistance. In this case, farmers in Kentucky’s Martin and Pike counties also qualify. The deadline to apply for aid under this declaration is October 27, 2025.
Farmers can explore available programs through USDA’s online resources, such as the Disaster Assistance Discovery Tool, Loan Assistance Tool, and Disaster Assistance-at-a-Glance fact sheet, available on farmers.gov. To file a Notice of Loss or inquire about assistance options, producers should contact their local USDA Service Center.
