West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) wants to help new students age 25 or older pursue their dream of earning a college credential with its Adult Promise Scholarship.
The scholarship will be offered beginning in Fall 2022, and recipients will receive free tuition for up to 30 credit hours over two semesters. The Adult Promise Scholarship covers tuition after all other financial aid or third-party payments are applied.
"This scholarship can help eligible adult students pay for college, complete a credential, and ultimately enter the job market," said Renea Akin, vice president of academic affairs.
WKCTC offers more than 200 different credentials available in career, technical, and academic programs, with courses in-person, online, and hybrid, which combines both online and face-to-face classes.
To qualify to receive the Adult Promise Scholarship, students must:
- Enter WKCTC as a first-time student without an associate degree or higher;
- Be admitted to WKCTC as a degree-seeking student;
- Be at least 25 years of age by Aug. 15;
