Ag tech bonanza - $24M farm show invades Kentucky

By Blake Jackson

Mark your calendars, farmers and agriculture enthusiasts! The National Farm Machinery Show, a behemoth event boasting over 300,000 attendees, is gearing up to take over Louisville this month. This annual powerhouse, now in its 58th year, is not just a spectacle, it's a major economic driver for the city, ranking 6th among events with the highest estimated impact, bringing in a whopping $24.2 million!

But wait, there's more! The show also fuels significant hotel occupancy, pushing rates above 90% during its run. As David S. Beck, President & CEO of Kentucky Venues, proudly states, "We're thrilled to be alongside legendary events like the Kentucky Derby and PGA Tour. While our focus is connecting the best in agriculture, we're equally excited about the positive impact the show has on Louisville and the entire Commonwealth."

So, what can you expect? The Kentucky Exposition Center and Freedom Hall will transform into a haven for all agricultural things, showcasing the latest and greatest in tractors, balers, sprayers, and everything in between. Mark your calendars for February 14-17, 2024, and get ready to immerse yourself in this agricultural extravaganza.

And for those seeking some extra thrills, the Championship Tractor Pull, sponsored by Farm Credit Mid-America, will run daily at 7 p.m. from February 14-17, with an additional matinee performance on Saturday at noon. Tickets start at $10, so grab your family and friends and prepare to witness the raw power of these incredible machines! Find more information and purchase tickets at champpull.org.

Admission is free and open to the public. Parking is $12 per vehicle. Next year’s show is February 12-15, 2025. For more information, visit farmmachineryshow.org.
