The Elliott County Extension Office in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, will host two important educational sessions for local producers on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The first session, Beef Quality Assurance (BQCA) Certification, will begin at 5:30 p.m.
This certification is essential for cattle producers, ensuring they follow best practices in animal care, handling, and overall herd management. BQCA certification helps improve meat quality, enhances animal welfare, and ensures compliance with industry standards.
Following the certification, the office will host the Cost-Share Assistance and Improvement Program (CAIP) Education session at 6:30 p.m. This session is designed to provide farmers with valuable guidance on accessing financial assistance for farm improvements and implementing cost-effective practices that support sustainable agriculture.
Attendees will learn about eligibility, program benefits, and how to successfully apply for funding through CAIP.
Both sessions will take place at the Elliott County Extension Office, located at 2944 South KY 7, Sandy Hook, KY 41171. For more information, interested participants can contact Jacob Ison at 606-738-6400 or via email at jacobison@uky.edu.
