Bluegrass AgTech Development Corp (BADC) has opened applications for the 2025-2026 Bluegrass AgTech Challenge Grant, inviting startups in agricultural technology and food innovation to apply for funding and support to advance their businesses in Kentucky.
The Challenge Grant is designed to assist both early-stage and growth-stage companies developing technologies that strengthen Kentucky’s agriculture, food systems, and rural economy.
Selected applicants will gain not only grant funding but also opportunities to connect with industry leaders, research partners, and other resources to accelerate their growth.
Eligible applicants include for-profit businesses with products, services, or technologies that address tangible challenges in agriculture and food systems. Priority will be given to companies that clearly benefit Kentucky farmers, local supply chains, or communities, and to those planning to establish or expand operations in the state.
The grant emphasizes innovation in areas such as future-proofing animal protein, solutions for mid-sized farms, sustainable food systems, food-as-health initiatives, and leveraging Kentucky’s equine and distilling heritage.
Applications are open now and must be submitted by February 15, 2026. Applicants are required to provide a dollar-for-dollar match for requested funds, including cash or eligible in-kind contributions.
