As autumn arrives, many families look forward to spending time outdoors visiting farms, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and hayrides. This seasonal excitement has inspired the release of Farm & Fun, a new digital guide published by Farm Credit Mid-America showcasing a wide selection of agritourism destinations across Kentucky.
Agritourism continues to expand as an industry that blends agriculture with tourism, giving farmers opportunities to diversify income while boosting local economies and enriching rural communities.
Farm & Fun features more than 120 farms and markets that welcome guests to explore activities, enjoy fresh produce, and learn more about the effort behind producing food, fiber, and fuel.
“Agritourism is one way many farmers and their families share traditions and create enjoyable farm experiences for the public. It reminds us that agriculture touches every part of our lives,” said Tara Durbin, chief lending officer, agriculture at Farm Credit Mid-America.
“Farm & Fun was created to celebrate and support the people and places responsible for producing so many of the goods and products we enjoy every day. We hope this guide will help others discover new places to go and increase their appreciation for our farmers and rural communities.”
Although fall may be the most popular time for farm visits, many participating locations offer activities year-round. The guide serves as a comprehensive resource for those seeking meaningful agricultural experiences in every season.
Spring flower picking, summer berry harvesting, autumn pumpkin patch visits, and cozy winter farm-to-table dinners are just a few examples.
These destinations were nominated by Farm Credit Mid-America team members who live and work within the rural communities they serve.
Inside the digital guide, users can explore attractions across six states, review short descriptions of each listing, and access interactive links for websites or social media pages to verify operating hours, event schedules, and pricing details.
The debut of Farm & Fun supports Farm Credit Mid-America’s goal of securing the future of rural communities and agriculture.
“This project reflects who we are,” Durbin said. “We live out here too, and we’re proud to support the farmers and rural businesses who make our rural communities stronger.”
Farm & Fun is available to view and download for free online.
