Kentucky farmers recovering from the severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides that occurred between February 14 and March 7, 2025, are eligible for emergency credit through USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loans, thanks to a recent Presidential disaster declaration.
These loans can help producers cover essential recovery needs, such as replacing equipment or livestock, reorganizing their farming operations, or refinancing specific debts.
The FSA will assess loan applications based on the extent of losses, available security, and the applicant's ability to repay.
Producers in the following primary Kentucky counties are eligible to apply: Bullitt, Hopkins, Jefferson, Lewis, Magoffin, Russell, and Trigg.
Farmers in the following contiguous Kentucky counties are also eligible: Adair, Breathitt, Caldwell, Calloway, Carter, Casey, Christian, Clinton, Cumberland, Fleming, Floyd, Greenup, Hardin, Johnson, Knott, Lyon, McLean, Marshall, Mason, Morgan, Muhlenberg, Nelson, Oldham, Pulaski, Rowan, Shelby, Spencer, Wayne, Webster, and Wolfe.
The deadline for producers in both primary and contiguous counties to apply for these emergency loans is December 1, 2025.
This assistance aims to provide crucial financial support to help Kentucky's agricultural community recover from the devastating natural disasters.
