Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell has announced new appointments and reappointments to two key agricultural bodies: the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation (KAFC) and the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board (KADB).
Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation
The KAFC focuses on addressing the specific financing needs of the state’s agricultural community. By partnering with local lending institutions, the KAFC provides low-interest loan programs to help beginning farmers, farm families, and agribusinesses secure the capital necessary to launch, expand, or sustain operations.
Among the appointments:
- Linda Rumpke of Lexington has been reappointed to represent commercial lenders. Her term will run through June 26, 2029.
- Frank Penn, also of Lexington, has been reappointed to represent the equine industry. His term also ends on June 26, 2029.
- Steve Olt of Greensburg has been newly appointed to represent dairy farmers. His term will expire on June 26, 2029.
Kentucky Agricultural Development Board
The KADB supports Kentucky agriculture through grants and incentives that encourage innovation and growth among farmers and agribusinesses.
Recent reappointments include:
- Heather Graham of Campton, who will continue representing active farmers. Her term extends to July 6, 2029.
- Fritz Giesecke of Horse Cave, reappointed to represent the Kentucky Farm Bureau. His term also ends July 6, 2029.
