Two Kentucky high school students have been recognized for their leadership and involvement in agriculture through the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s 2025 Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth contest.
Clara Belle Bishop of Nelson County and Jeremiah Jury of Owen County earned top honors during the organization’s 106th Annual Meeting. Each received a $3,500 college scholarship, $300 in cash and a piece of luggage as part of their awards.
The winners were chosen from a competitive field of 22 district finalists, representing roughly 350 students who participated in county and district-level contests throughout the year. The competition included two main components: a personal interview and a prepared two-minute speech focused on agriculture or the mission of Kentucky Farm Bureau.
A panel of three judges with experience in agriculture and youth development evaluated the contestants. Participants were scored on leadership involvement, communication skills and academic achievement, along with their performance in interviews and speeches.
Adam Blanford of Marion County and Alyssa Benningfield of Taylor County were named runners-up in the contest. Both received a $300 cash prize and a leather portfolio in recognition of their accomplishments.
