The Kentucky Proud program, part of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, is inviting the public to celebrate local food, beverages, and handcrafted goods all in one place.
On Friday, Sept. 12, from 3 to 6 p.m. EDT, the Kentucky Proud Expo will take over The Venue at Evans Orchard & Cider Mill near Georgetown, offering a unique marketplace featuring some of the state’s most creative and flavorful products.
Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell is expected to attend and will be available for media interviews during the event.
More than 40 Kentucky Proud vendors will be on-site, giving visitors the chance to browse, sample, and purchase items directly.
Shoppers can discover innovative offerings such as non-melting chocolate superfood snacks, mushroom-based vegan jerky, shrubs (drinking vinegars), brine mixes, bitters, and frozen sweet corn. Popular standbys including teas, coffee, sauces, jams, spices, and candles will also be available.
Representing nearly 6,000 farm and artisanal businesses, Kentucky Proud is the official state marketing program with 87 percent brand recognition among local consumers.
Its mission is to connect Kentuckians with fresh, locally produced goods while boosting the state’s agricultural economy.
