A partnership between the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Foundation and the Warren County Tech Center Advanced Motorsports Foundation will assist local high school graduates continue their technical education pathway at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College through the Dr. Ivan Schrodt "Excellence in Action" Scholarship.
Through the generosity of Warren County Tech Center Advanced Motorsports Foundation board member, Dr. Ivan Schrodt, and matching funds from the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, a $400,000 endowment is being established to annually award at least five, $1000 scholarships to students wishing to pursue a skilled trades education. The scholarship program will pave a path for students to access well-paying and fulfilling careers.
The Scholarship is open to graduates of the Warren County Area Technology Center (WCATC), Warren County Public Schools (WCPS), and Bowling Green High School (BGHS). Applicants must have completed at least two semesters in a Career and Technical Education Pathway and be classified as a CTE concentrator at their home high school or WCATC.
Applicants must have no more than 8 absences during their senior year (excused or unexcused) with a cumulative 2.5 GPA during high school and maintain a 3.0 GPA during all college level coursework to qualify for the second-year renewal. The scholarship is based on financial need.
Successful recipients must be enrolled in a certificate, diploma or degree program in one of the high-wage/high-demand technical areas at any of the SKYCTC campuses. Recipients who meet the above criteria may renew the scholarship for their second year with scholarship committee approval. Students can apply at (insert scholarship link)
