The Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) has named the three finalists for its 2025 Kentucky Farmer of the Year award, a prestigious honor that highlights excellence in agricultural production, leadership, and community service.
This year’s finalists are Mark Metcalfe of Hopkins County, Scott Porter of Mason County, and Mike Wilson of Anderson County.
All three were selected following a thorough application and review process. To be considered for the award, candidates must be current members of the Kentucky Farm Bureau.
“Each of these outstanding farmers is very deserving of this honor,” said KFB President Eddie Melton. “Mark, Scott and Mike all show an unwavering commitment to excellence in agriculture, efficiency in their farming operations, and a high level of business and financial expertise. While there can only be one award given, we believe they are all winners in our industry.”
The finalists will receive special recognition at KFB’s annual Ham Breakfast during the Kentucky State Fair on August 21. The winner of the 2025 award will be announced on October 2 and will be honored at the KFB Annual Meeting in December.
The Kentucky Farmer of the Year award continues to spotlight leaders in agriculture who make significant contributions to their communities and the farming industry.
