2026 Kentucky Alfalfa and Stored Forage Conference

By Blake Jackson

The University of Kentucky’s Master Grazer program, part of the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Cooperative Extension Service, will host its 2026 Alfalfa and Stored Forage Conference on February 24. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CST at the Logan County Extension Office in Russellville, Kentucky.

Extension forage specialist Chris Teutsch highlighted the value of the conference for producers. “Hay producers can expect to discuss multiple topics during the conference, including weed control, insecticide resistance, hay marketing, new discoveries in alfalfa genetics and the new forage testing program,” Teutsch said. “We are very excited to offer this opportunity once again for our stored forage producers in the state."

The Kentucky Forage and Grassland Council will sponsor lunch and the awards program for the Kentucky alfalfa and hay quality contests, which are included with registration.

Those interested in attending must register online, where a full agenda is also available. The registration fee is $45, with students able to attend for $15. The Logan County Extension Office is located at 255 John Paul Road, Russellville, KY.
