Ag is for All Conference Welcomes College-Bound High School Students in Kentucky

The UK Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Office of Diversity, in collaboration with the Center for Student Success, welcomes all high school students in Kentucky to the third annual Ag is for All Conference on April 19. Registration is now open for youth participants, accompany adults, volunteers and extension agents.

Themed “Connecting Tomorrow’s Leaders with Today’s Trailblazers,” the event aims to help high school students from underrepresented groups learn more about the college experience and academic programs offered at UK and Martin-Gatton CAFE.

The agenda includes an overview of Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASA) and scholarships, UK campus tour, Living Learning Program overview, engagement with faculty and current students, college application best practices and more.

“Ag is for All Conference’s inspiration came from our recognized responsibility to do our part in decreasing barriers students face when seeking out higher education,” said Kendriana Price, assistant dean for diversity, equity and inclusion at Martin-Gatton CAFE. “We are creating access to resources for students to be successful as they consider our campus as their next academic home.”

The event will connect students with the UK community to help build better relationships. At the event’s conclusion, high school students will be more informed and inspired about considering UK for their college endeavors.
