Kentucky Conference Opens Registration

By Blake Jackson

Registration is officially open for the 2026 Kentucky Fruit and Vegetable Conference, the state’s leading event for fruit, vegetables, and cut flower growers. The conference, announced by Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell, is scheduled for January 12–13, 2026, with pre-conference activities on January 11, at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green.

Commissioner Shell emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “The conference highlights the vital role Kentucky’s specialty crop industry plays in supporting local economies. Hearing and learning from experts in Kentucky’s produce community as they come together to share their knowledge with the rest of the state is an excellent way to start the new year. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is proud to announce this educational experience.”

The event remains a central gathering for Kentucky’s specialty crop sector, providing hands-on workshops, educational tracks, and valuable networking opportunities. Executive Director of the Kentucky Horticulture Council, Trevor Terry, highlighted the community-focused nature of the conference, saying, "This conference has always been about growers showing up for each other, and that's what makes it special. Yes, the sessions are excellent, and the speakers are top-notch, but what I hear most from attendees is how much they value the chance to reconnect, swap ideas, and learn from people who understand the realities of this work. We're genuinely excited to bring everyone back together in Bowling Green in January."

The conference is organized through a partnership between the Kentucky Horticulture Council, Kentucky State Horticultural Society, Kentucky Vegetable Growers Association, Organic Association of Kentucky, and university and state agriculture partners. Pre-conference programming includes vegetable growers meet and greet, a farmers’ market short course, and workshops on food safety and disease management.

The main conference will feature more than a dozen educational tracks and over 75 expert speakers. Around 600 growers, researchers, and technical providers are expected to participate.

Early bird registration is available for $80 through December 19, increasing to $100 afterward. Lodging at a group rate of $108 per night is available through December 30, 2025.
