The U.S. ethanol market plays a vital role in supporting grain farm profitability while also delivering value to consumers. As the holiday season and new year approach, leaders in the corn and ethanol industries are stepping up efforts to highlight the advantages of allowing E15 fuel sales year-round.
Representing Kentucky’s corn farmers, Kentucky Corn Growers Association President Josh Lancaster will take part in national advocacy efforts promoting expanded E15 access.
Kentucky Corn will point to USDA forecasts calling for a record corn crop of 16.8 billion bushels and will continue to call attention to regulatory barriers that limit year-round E15 sales. These restrictions reduce market opportunities for farmers at a time when many are facing ongoing financial pressure.
In addition to addressing challenges at the farm level, KY Corn will share updated economic data with lawmakers showing how expanded E15 access can benefit consumers. E15 fuel is commonly priced 10 to 30 cents per gallon lower than standard gasoline, offering drivers meaningful savings amid fluctuating fuel costs.
With Congress preparing to consider key legislative measures in the coming months, Kentucky Corn remains committed to advancing policies that support both farm income and affordable fuel options nationwide.
