Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) has unveiled its national and state policy priorities for 2026 following its 106th Annual Meeting. Developed by KFB members and approved by the Board of Directors, these priorities will shape the organization’s advocacy efforts at both federal and state levels during the 2026 legislative sessions.
At the national level, KFB will focus on protecting crop insurance, expanding water resources for irrigation and livestock, and promoting fair and open trade. Other priorities include enhancing transportation infrastructure such as rural highways and waterways, advancing regulatory reforms based on sound science, and strengthening the H-2A farm labor program.
KFB also supports increasing domestic fuel and fertilizer production, incentives for sustainable aviation fuel using U.S. agricultural feedstocks, federal tax policies that safeguard family farms, healthcare reforms, and stronger wildlife depredation protections for farmers and ranchers.
State priorities center on continued support for agricultural programs and services, including funding for the Agricultural Development Board, soil and water conservation, and a well-resourced Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
KFB will advocate for policies that protect farmland, maintain tax exemptions for production agriculture, sustain rural road funding, require decommissioning bonds for commercial solar projects, expand broadband access and rural economic development, improve wildlife management, enhance transparency in eminent domain cases, and support forestry initiatives benefiting woodland owners and rural communities.
