Kentucky Horse Council Elects New Board Members 2026

The Kentucky Horse Council, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Kentucky’s equine community through education, leadership, and equine rescue and welfare initiatives, has announced the election of new directors and officers to its Board of Directors.

The newly elected board members include Kassandra Creed, equine safety compliance lead at Keeneland; Alyssa Curry, owner of Still Hollow Farm; Travers Manley, senior vice president of gaming and media relations at the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation; Jessie Reams, veterinary technician at Equine Medical Associates; Tammi Jo Regan, founder and CEO of For Hank's Sake; and Matt Zehnder, manager of the University of Kentucky’s Maine Chance Farm.

Returning board members Liz Douglas, owner of MEND.HORSE Therapy, and Erin Woodall, co-owner of 1681 Equestrian, were elected as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Jen Roytz, co-owner of Brownstead Farm and co-founder of Topline Communications, will continue her two-year term as president in 2026, while Vice President Annie Cornett, owner of Momentum Creative Group, was re-elected for a second year.

Other returning directors include Megan Carr, licensed dressage judge and Kentucky Three-day Event vet box chief steward; Elias Delbridge, director of Animal Control for Boyle County and farrier; Christopher Klein, legal counsel and co-owner of sporthorse development programs; Evelyn Latta, associate at Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC; Dr. Page Mauk, associate veterinarian at Lexington Equine Medical Group; Kammy Popiwczak, horse show announcer and farm owner; and Kristin Werner, deputy general counsel and director of industry initiatives for The Jockey Club.

"The new KHC Board members have played integral roles on KHC committees in the last year and we are so excited to welcome them to the KHC in an official capacity," said Kentucky Horse Council Executive Director Sarah E. Coleman.

"Each member of our Board brings a unique set of equine experience, helping to ensure our charity represents all types of horses in the Commonwealth, no matter their breed or discipline. I look forward to working them in the coming year.”
