Lexington Equine Medical Group (LEMG) has contributed $15,000 to the Kentucky Horse Council, designating the donation specifically to support the Council’s initiatives in Eastern Kentucky. The funds were generated through LEMG’s annual hunter pace and 5K event held earlier this year at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The second LEMG Hunter Pace featured a wide range of horses and riders, welcoming participants from various disciplines in jumping, non-jumping, and pleasure divisions.
The event adopted a new two-day schedule, with placings awarded through sixth place and additional prizes for the top three teams. The accompanying 5K run followed the same course, led by horse-and-rider pairs, and recognized the Top Male and Top Female runners with custom belt buckles.
LEMG has announced that the 2026 Hunter Pace will again take place at the Kentucky Horse Park on September 5-6, with the 5K scheduled for the morning of September 6.
“Our team was excited to welcome nearly 300 runners and riders to the Kentucky Horse Park. It was a fantastic day seeing riders of all ages and disciplines enjoy their horses and support such a great cause, and one that is close to my heart," said Dr. Rocky M. Mason, founding partner of Lexington Equine Medical Group.
"Not every horse in the Commonwealth is blessed with adequate food, shelter or veterinary care, and we are honored to give back to an organization that offers a variety of equine welfare assistance programs to horses in the state."
“The Kentucky Horse Council is thankful for LEMG’s dedication to the health of all Kentucky horses, and we are particularly grateful for the ways in which their team continually assists our charity with equine welfare and outreach initiatives," said Sarah E. Coleman, Executive Director. “It's because of generous donations like this that we can continue to offer assistance to horses in need, specifically in Eastern Kentucky."
