This Earth Month, the CCOF Foundation celebrates the power of organic farming and the people who make it possible—farmers, students, and supporters. Their commitment creates healthier communities and protects our planet.
The foundation’s Future Organic Farmers program has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students and new farmers, building the next generation of organic leaders. These scholarships inspire young minds to step confidently into sustainable agriculture.
When natural disasters strike, the Hardship Assistance Fund steps in. It’s the only national program that gives financial relief directly to certified organic farmers affected by wildfires, floods, and more. So far, $3.2 million has helped 523 farmers recover and rebuild. “We are so deeply grateful for this grant! It will be a key factor in our farm’s survival. Blessings to all of you who made this possible,” said Patricia Rockwell, CCOF Grantee, Owner of Green Gift Gardens
CCOF also provides free education, mentorship, and technical assistance, helping organic professionals improve their skills and grow successful operations. These resources ensure long-term strength in the organic community.
The Organic Transitions Program (OTP) supports farmers through multi-year grants and one-on-one guidance. Over $1.2 million has been awarded to help farmers shift to organic. The foundation also leads a USDA-funded program to assist farmers across seven states in transitioning to organic practices through workforce training and community support.
Your donation empowers organic farmers with the tools they need to stay strong, resilient, and rooted in sustainability. This Earth Month, join the mission to build healthier soil, cleaner water, and thriving rural economies—one farm at a time.
