USDA extends deadline for DFAP to January 13, 2024

USDA extends deadline for DFAP to January 13, 2024

By Blake Jackson

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended the application deadline for the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program (DFAP) to January 13, 2024. This program offers financial assistance to Kentucky farmers and ranchers who experienced discrimination by USDA Farm Loan programs in the past.

DFAP is part of the Inflation Reduction Act, which provides $2.2 billion for financial assistance to farmers and ranchers who experienced discrimination. The program is also available to farmers and ranchers who are currently debtors with assigned or assumed USDA farm loan debt that was the subject of USDA discrimination prior to January 1, 2021.

Windsor Group LLC is an official administrator for the program and will provide free technical assistance to help farmers and ranchers through the application process.

Windsor Group LLC will also host an informational event on Saturday, October 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Black Soil KY Fulfillment Center in Lexington, Kentucky. This event will offer guidance on how to apply for DFAP and how to access the support available through the program.
