The countdown to one of Kentucky’s biggest annual celebrations is on as the 122nd Kentucky State Fair returns to the Kentucky Exposition Center from August 20-30, 2026.
Visitors can look forward to 11 days of exciting competitions, family-friendly attractions, live entertainment, agricultural exhibits, and unforgettable fair experiences.
With so much happening throughout the fairgrounds, planning ahead is the best way to make the most of your visit. From championship livestock events to unique contests and live performances, there is something for every age and interest.
Among the featured attractions is the Largest Pumpkin and Watermelon Contest, where giant produce will be weighed and judged in West Hall at 1:30 p.m. on August 22.
Families can also enjoy the Junior Dairy Cattle Costume Contest at 5:00 p.m. on August 21 in Broadbent Arena, showcasing creatively dressed young exhibitors and their cattle.
Animal enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Something to Crow About Contest Finals at the Pavilion on August 23 at 2:00 p.m. Beer lovers can wrap up the festivities at BEERFEST on August 29, sampling craft brews from more than a dozen local breweries between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. Online BEERFEST tickets include Kentucky State Fair admission.
