Body Smart Gardening Workshop at Yew Dell - Register Now!

By Blake Jackson

As spring approaches, gardening enthusiasts can enhance their skills while learning safe techniques at Yew Dell Botanical Garden’s upcoming Plant Bites: Body Smart Gardening Techniques Workshop.

Led by Heather Toombs, the Oldham County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences, this informative session will focus on proper body mechanics for common gardening tasks.

Participants will gain valuable insights into ergonomic techniques that help reduce strain while lifting heavy bags of fertilizer, reaching for weeds, or squatting to plant bulbs. These strategies can improve comfort, prevent injuries, and make gardening a more enjoyable experience.

The workshop is scheduled for March 25 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens, located in Crestwood, Kentucky.

Attendees will not only benefit from expert advice but also enjoy a delicious lunch buffet from Martha Lee’s Kitchen, included with the ticket price.

Tickets range from $30 to $40, and space is limited. Gardeners of all skill levels are encouraged to register early to secure their spot. For more information, contact Yew Dell Botanical Gardens at (502) 241-4788.

Don't miss this opportunity to prepare for a productive gardening season while prioritizing your health and well-being!
