Freddy, White and Blue Wins KFB America250 T-Shirt Contest

Freddy, White and Blue Wins KFB America250 T-Shirt Contest

By Blake Jackson

The Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) has announced “Freddy, White and Blue” as the winner of its America250 T-shirt contest.

Chosen by public vote from six original designs, the winning shirt features Freddy Farm Bureau dressed as a Revolutionary War-era patriot, carrying the American flag. This design will be KFB’s official America250 T-shirt throughout the year.

For the first time, the shirt will be available for purchase by the public through a special two-week pre-order sale. Orders can be placed at kyfb.com/Freddy250 through midnight on April 15.

Proceeds from the sales will support the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation, helping students across the state pursue higher education.

The initiative allows supporters to celebrate a long-standing Kentucky State Fair tradition while investing in the future of Kentucky youth.

“Freddy has been a beloved part of the Kentucky State Fair for more than 65 years, and this design captures both the patriotic spirit of America’s 250th anniversary and the pride we have in Kentucky agriculture,” said B. Todd Bright, Communication Director for Kentucky Farm Bureau.

“We’re grateful to everyone who voted, and we’re proud that purchasing a shirt also means investing in the future of Kentucky students.”

Freddy Farm Bureau first appeared at the Kentucky State Fair in 1958 and has welcomed visitors every year since. Known as the unofficial meeting spot of the Kentucky Exposition Center, generations of fairgoers have said, “Meet me at Freddy.”

Beyond his role as a landmark, Freddy serves as KFB’s agricultural ambassador, helping share the story of Kentucky farming and food production with the public.
