Join the Moo-vement: Enroll Now in 'Adopt a Cow' Program!

Discover Dairy's popular "Adopt a Cow" program is back for the 2023-24 school year, and it's time to join the moo-vement! The Dairy Alliance, in partnership with Discovery Dairy, is bringing an exciting and educational series to elementary and middle school classrooms, homeschool families, library groups, and other organizations across the Southeast.

Last year, over 40,000 classrooms and nearly half a million students participated in the program, sponsored by The Dairy Alliance. Now, schools from rural and urban areas can enroll, giving students of all ages and backgrounds a firsthand look at life on a dairy farm.

By adopting a calf from one of the eight host farms, each classroom gets an inside view of dairy farming. Through photos, video updates, and activity sheets, students can watch their calf grow and learn about the daily life of a dairy farmer. The program provides an immersive, hands-on experience, complemented by free curriculum materials from Discover Dairy.

Excitingly, this year's program introduces new lessons targeted at high school students. These lessons dig into topics like food science, dairy's economic and community impact, and its environmental footprint, deepening students' understanding of the dairy industry and food production.

In addition to virtual chats and farm tours that allow students to interact with dairy farmers and their calves, the Adopt a Cow program develop curiosity for learning about agriculture, animals, and the outdoors.

Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to connect students with the world of dairy farming. Enrollment for the Adopt a Cow program is open until September 15, 2023.
