UK Woman’s Club Accepting Scholarship Applications

The University of Kentucky Woman’s Club (UKWC) is currently accepting applications for its 2023-24 tuition scholarships, awarded to undergraduate full- or part-time students. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is March 15.

Each year, the UKWC awards scholarships covering up to full tuition for undergraduate students who are Kentucky residents. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and must have completed at least 12-credit hours. Consideration will be given to nontraditional women students with financial need. Members who are current members of the UKWC are ineligible.

Scholarship applications for the 2023-24 academic year can be found here. Applications must be mailed to the UK Woman’s Club Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 22172, Lexington, KY 40522, or emailed to ukwcmembers@gmail.com by Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Applicants must also complete the 2023-24 Federal Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) by Feb. 1. Applications and all required supporting documents received after the deadline will not be considered.

The UKWC Scholarship Committee will review the applications for final selection before the end of the spring semester. Finalists will attend a personal interview with the committee. The decisions of the UK Woman’s Club are final following the selection process.

Since 1973, the UKWC Aid Fund has provided 309 undergraduate scholarships totaling $891,000. Additionally, the UKWC entered into a RCTF endowment agreement with UK in 2006 that has awarded some 64 graduate fellowships totaling approximately $232,000.

The UKWC has funded many activities benefiting UK students since it was founded in 1909. The club looks forward to assisting more UK students with their academics in 2023-24.

With a rich tradition of more than 100 years of service, the UKWC provides a welcoming and enriching environment for all women to be part of a group committed to supporting the campus and its students. UKWC scholarship and fellowship programs provide nearly $40,000 annually to students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. In addition, UKWC partners with other UK organizations and programs to provide needed services to the student body.
