Subsoil moisture was rated 5 percent very short, 19 percent short, 69 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus. Days suitable for fieldwork averaged 4.3 out of a possible seven.

A brief period of snow early in the week temporarily slowed harvest. Pastures are gradually improving from much needed rain, but extreme hay shortages are still on the horizon.
