Sheep producers are invited to prepare for the upcoming lambing season by attending a hands-on educational workshop focused on practical skills and expert guidance. Two identical sessions will be offered on Saturday, January 31, 2026, giving participants flexibility to attend either a morning or afternoon program.
The first session will run from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a second session from 1 to 3 p.m., with both held at Hydden Wells Farms, located at 198 Buffalo Creek Road in Barbourville, Kentucky.
The program will cover essential topics to help producers feel confident during lambing season. Participants will learn how to properly prepare for lambing, manage the birthing process, and provide care immediately after delivery.
Instruction will also include how to handle common challenges with newborn and orphaned lambs, as well as best practices for ewe care before and after lambing. Each session will feature the same material, ensuring consistent learning opportunities for all attendees.
A Lamb Lunch will be provided from noon to 1 p.m. and is included with registration. Space is limited to 25 participants per session, for a total of 50 available spots. Registration is required and costs $10 per family, which includes a 2026 SEKSPA membership. Current SESKPA members in good standing may attend at no cost.
