Valentine's Day on a Budget

Don’t want to spend big bucks this Valentine’s Day?

Here are six Galentine’s, Palentine’s or Valentine’s date ideas:

Practice self-love at “Galentine’s: Self Love” — Celebrate Galentine’s Day with EMPOWER and Collegiate Curls! You can decorate jars, then fill them with affirmations. An added bonus, a backdrop and Polaroid camera will be available for photo-ops.

Need a last-minute gift? — Create crafts from around the world with the UK International Center.

“Knittin’ with the Kittens” — UK Student Activities Board (SAB) and the Lexington Humane Society have the purrfect event for you! Join a free knitting workshop, while spending time with the cutest kittens.

Become a local tourist — Go sightseeing around Lexington. Explore all the places Lexington has to offer with helpful resources from VisitLex.

Don’t judge a book by its cover — Join UK SAB and UK Libraries for a blind date with a book. Pick a wrapped book based off of the keywords, general description, and/or reviews rather than the actual cover and description. Students can keep the book or return it to the SAB office for other students to enjoy!

“Smooches and Pooches” — Visit 4 Paws for Ability’s puppy kissing booth at the Gatton Student Center.
