Kentucky corn growers are supporting educational efforts in classrooms across the state this fall. Since its inception, Kentucky Corn has supported the programming of Kentucky Agriculture & Environment in the Classroom (KAEC). KAEC programs help to connect students with the food they eat and the farms where it's grown.
Here are some of the programs that Kentucky corn growers are supporting:
- Kentucky Farms Feed Me Virtual Field Trips: This program allows students in primary grades to take a virtual journey to Kentucky farms through short educational videos.
- My Kentucky Home Provides What I Need Curriculum: This program provides a deep dive into the world of agriculture for students in secondary levels.
- Kentucky Farm to School Challenge: This initiative encourages Kentucky schools and classrooms to engage in three activities—Taste, Learn, and Grow—during Farm to School Month.
- Adopt-a-Cow Program: This program brings a calf right to your classroom through captivating photos and stories that bring her life on the farm directly to your students.
- There's a Pig in My Classroom: This live, virtual program is designed for students in grades 3-6 and teaches them about the journey of pork from farm to plate.
- Mobile Science Activity Center: This mobile trailer has interactive workstations and activities for students, including a “Biodegradable Corn Plastic” activity.
These programs are a great way to connect students with agriculture and the food they eat.
