Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Mark Haney Honored by AFBF

By Blake Jackson

Mark Haney, former President of the Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB), has been awarded the prestigious Founders Award by the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF).

This esteemed award, presented annually, recognizes exceptional leadership and contributions to the Farm Bureau organization.

Haney, a long-time advocate for Kentucky farmers, served on the KFB board for over three decades and led the organization as president for 15 years.

During his tenure, Haney championed numerous policies and initiatives that supported agricultural growth and sustainability at the local, state, and national levels.

“It is very humbling for me to receive this award,” Haney said. “I know the quality of people that serve in Farm Bureau and the things that they have accomplished. For me to be mentioned in that elite group is such an honor.”

Haney played a pivotal role in establishing several key initiatives within KFB, including the Certified Farm Market Program, the Generation Bridge Program, and the Legacy Farm Program. These programs have significantly benefited Kentucky farmers and strengthened the agricultural community.

“Mark is an exceptional leader,” said KFB President Eddie Melton. “He has demonstrated unparalleled leadership and dedication to farmers in Kentucky and across America’s agricultural community.”

Haney will be formally recognized for his achievements during the AFBF's 106th Convention in San Antonio, Texas on January 26th.
