Calling all livestock producers! The University of Kentucky's summer grazing school tackles electric fencing this year. "Electric Fencing for Serious Grazers" dives deep into installation and troubleshooting to help you master this crucial skill.
This one-day event happens on June 12th at the Butler County Cooperative Extension Office, followed by a visit to a local dairy farm. The program starts at 9:00 AM CST and wraps up by 4:30 PM.
Open to all experience levels, the curriculum covers essential topics like electric fence basics, grounding techniques, and troubleshooting common problems. You'll also learn about rotational grazing and optimizing pasture nutrition.
Expert speakers include Jeremy McGill from Gallagher Animal Management and Morgan Hayes from the University of Kentucky. Registration is just $35 and includes lunch, refreshments, and learning materials. Space is limited to the first 30 participants, so register by June 8th!
