The University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is preparing to host its annual Signature Industries Career Fair, an event designed to connect job seekers with employers from some of Kentucky’s most important industries, according to Grace Sowards. The fair will be held October 1, 2026, from 2-5 p.m. at the UK Gatton Student Center Ballrooms.
The event highlights opportunities across Kentucky’s equine, distilling and agribusiness sectors. Registration is available through Handshake for both employers and job seekers.
Business organizations will pay a $250 registration fee, while nonprofits, government agencies, startups and craft organizations can participate for $50.
The career fair is open to all job seekers, not only University of Kentucky students. Last year, more than 400 participants representing 76 UK majors, 12 UK colleges and 12 universities outside UK attended the event.
“Seeing distillers coming to campus to network with our students and the community is truly one of the highlights of my year,” said Ilka Balk, James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits associate director and event co-organizer.
Savannah Robin, a lecturer in career and professional development, said the event has continued to grow since its creation in 2009.
“Having the unique opportunity to partner with the Beam Institute and re-design this event as the Signature Industries Career Fair has given it a new life for our students,” Robin said.
