Greenhouse and nursery sanitation practices help prevent the introduction and spread of plant diseases and pests. Being proactive in maintaining a clean growing environment will often be less expensive and more effective than reacting to a disease or pest issue after it emerges.
This new publication stresses the importance of regular cleaning and disinfecting commercial greenhouses, regardless of the size of the business. Steps to a basic sanitizing protocol are provided, along with a table listing some examples of commercial sanitizers and disinfectants currently available.
Cleaning & Sanitizing Commercial Greenhouse Surfaces (PPFS-GH-07) is now online at plantpathology.ca.uky.edu/files/ppfs-gh-07.pdf.
