On February 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., NRCS Oregon will host the Crook County Local Work Group Meeting at the OSU Extension Office, Clover Building, Prineville, OR.
This event invites farmers, ranchers, and conservation organizations to collaborate on natural resource conservation and sustainable agriculture practices.
Meeting Agenda -
- 10:00 AM - Welcome and introductions
- 10:15 AM - Explanation of the Local Work Group process
- 10:30 AM - Review of past and current conservation initiatives
Past projects - Conant Creek Watershed, Tri-County Forestry, Crook County Aspen Restoration, and others
Ongoing projects - Sage Grouse Initiative, Powell Butte Irrigation Efficiency, Non-lethal Predator Control, and various forestry programs
11:30 AM - Future conservation planning and discussions
- Updates on McKay Creek RCPP and Crook County Soil Survey
- Open forum for additional input from attendees
12:00 PM - Adjournment
This event provides an important platform for community involvement in shaping conservation policies and sustainable farming practices in Crook County.
Attendees will have the chance to discuss concerns, share insights, and contribute to upcoming conservation strategies.
