Kentucky State University has partnered with Sodexo, a facilities management company, to bring a best-in-class facilities management program to campus beginning in the spring of 2023.
“Sodexo’s professionalism, commitment to quality, and excellence in customer service will be a game-changer for our students and community,” Chief of Staff and Interim Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Daarel Burnette said. “I commend Interim President Ronald A. Johnson for his visionary leadership and swiftness in addressing the strategic direction and planning for the stewardship of more than 40 buildings across campus.”
Sodexo will oversee KSU’s facility management, including custodial services, grounds maintenance, building management, project management and energy management. In support of the overall transformation of the campus’ infrastructure, Sodexo will implement technology systems to maximize management of KSU’s campus buildings, grounds, equipment, and assets.
“We know that the quality of facilities and overall condition of the grounds, buildings, and physical infrastructure of the campus has a direct impact not only on prospective students’ decision to attend KSU, but also contributes to student retention. So it is critical to impact and improve the spaces where students play and learn,” Tiffany Williams, vice president of operations, university facilities east for Sodexo, said. “We are proud to work with all of our associates, and technicians to improve the quality of life for students, facility, staff, administrators, and the KSU community as a whole.”
The University will host an invitation-required event on January 17 to welcome and introduce the Sodexo leadership team to Frankfort and the KSU community.
