Beef Industry Scholarship Open For 2026 Applicants

By Jamie Martin

The National Cattlemen’s Foundation (NCF) is now accepting applications for the 2026 CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship, encouraging students interested in pursuing careers in the beef industry to apply. Ten scholarships, each worth $1,500, will be awarded to outstanding college students who demonstrate leadership, passion, and commitment to the future of beef production.

The CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship, established in 1989, recognizes talented students who will play a key role in shaping the future of food and agriculture. The program, sponsored by CME Group, is designed to support students studying fields such as education, communication, animal production, research, and other beef-related disciplines.

“We are pleased to partner with the National Cattlemen's Foundation and National Cattlemen's Beef Association to continue our support of the CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship program,” said John Ricci, managing director and global head of agricultural products at CME Group.

“CME Group has played a role in agribusiness for the past 180 years, and we are honored to keep that tradition going by supporting the future leaders of this industry.”

Eligible applicants include graduating high school seniors or full-time undergraduate students enrolled in two- or four-year colleges. The application process requires a one-page letter outlining career goals in the beef industry, a 750-word essay discussing a current industry issue with possible solutions, and two letters of recommendation. Applicants or a family member must also be members of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA).

The deadline to apply is November 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. Winners will be announced during CattleCon 2026, scheduled for February 3–5 in Nashville, Tennessee. For more information and to apply, visit www.nationalcattlemensfoundation.org.

Founded in 1972, NCF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing charitable, educational, and scientific efforts that benefit the cattle industry and promote leadership among future agricultural professionals.
